These terms govern your use of LeafReader ("the app"), a desktop reading application published by IAM_DEV. By installing or using the app, you agree to them.

1. Licence

LeafReader is provided free of charge for personal and commercial use. You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you control. You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute the app itself, or attempt to reverse engineer it except where that right cannot be excluded by law.

2. You are responsible for your content

LeafReader is a reader, not a bookstore. It supplies no books, and it does not include, host or provide access to any copyrighted material. You are solely responsible for the files you import and for holding the necessary rights to read them.

You agree not to use the app to infringe copyright or to circumvent digital rights management. The app does not remove DRM from protected files and provides no facility for doing so; files still protected by a store's DRM cannot be opened.

Your data is yours, and it is only yours to protect. Your library, highlights and notes are stored solely on your own computer. There is no cloud backup, no account and no copy on our side, so we cannot restore anything for you. If you delete the app's data folder, reset your machine, or lose the drive, that data is permanently gone. Keep your own backups of anything you care about.

The app requires no account or registration, and there is no subscription, in-app purchase or advertising. You do not provide us with any personal information in order to use it. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Updates may be released from time to time through the Microsoft Store to add features or fix defects. We may change or discontinue the app at any time. Because the app runs entirely on your computer and requires no server, existing installations continue to work regardless.

6. Disclaimer of warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every file in every supported format will render perfectly, as ebook and PDF files vary widely in how they are produced.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, IAM_DEV shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use the app. Because your library exists only on your own device, you are responsible for maintaining backups.

8. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page with its revision date. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
